It all started with windsurfing. No wonder, as Sardinia's north coast offers best sailing conditions for all levels almost all-season, due to the various wind currents and thermics.
The most known winds are the western Ponente and of course the Mistral, blowing from north-western directions. The strait of Bonifacio and the Porto Pollo bay accelerate the wind even more.
Taking off in the bay in front of our station is very safe. Depending on the force and direction of wind you may find smaller chop on the inside and short, steep wind waves a little further outside. Approx. 200m to the left the bay ends with a sandy spit.
The lee side of the spit provides a perfect speed strip. The windward side offers a decent but respectable wind wave. Porto Pollo is suited for all ability levels.
